About the Practice
Sally Holistic Counseling is a sole‑proprietorship mental health practice founded by Sally (Chuhua) Wang. Drawing on her own journey of healing from childhood trauma and her study of both Eastern and Western philosophies and spiritual traditions, Sally offers a compassionate, trauma‑informed environment for clients. In line with guidance from the National Institute of Mental Health, her psychotherapy services aim to help clients identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts and behaviors to relieve symptoms and improve quality of life. She emphasizes emotional validation as a core therapeutic skill—acknowledging and empathizing with clients’ feelings to help them feel understood and build trust.
Sally’s primary clinical orientation is the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, complemented by psychoanalytic perspectives. IFS views the mind as a system of inner “parts” guided by a core Self and encourages clients to acknowledge and accept all parts of themselves as a path to healing and self‑leadership. Accessing the Self allows individuals to cultivate qualities such as calmness, curiosity, compassion and confidence. Through guided IFS exercises, Sally supports clients in exploring and integrating their parts, fostering internal harmony and resilience. Her practice welcomes people from diverse cultural backgrounds and life experiences and offers a non‑judgmental, inclusive space where clients are treated with respect and empathy. Therapy can be a powerful tool for growth, but each person’s experience is unique; clients are encouraged to discuss their specific goals and challenges with Sally during sessions.
Who is Sally?
My name is Sally (Chuhua) Wang, and I am the founder of Sally Holistic Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of clinical experience. I hold dual master’s degrees in Professional Counseling and Education from the University of Pennsylvania (2014), and a bachelor’s degree in Child & Family Studies from Albright College.
In my counseling practice, I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychoanalytic approaches, and mindfulness-based methods to help clients reconnect with their authentic selves. My trilingual ability in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English as well as 20 years grew up in China allows me to serve a diverse community with cultural sensitivity and respect. I am a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician and works with both survivors and individuals navigating narcissistic traits. I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families on their journeys toward healing and growth.
A Holistic Approach
I believe healing involves more than addressing symptoms—it requires nurturing the mind, body, and spirit as a whole. My mission is to provide a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore early life experiences, work through painful patterns, and rediscover inner strength and clarity.
Personal & Creative Inspirations
Beyond counseling, I am a singer, violinist, guitarist, artist, gardener and intuitive. I draw inspiration from creativity and self-expression, which enrich both my personal life and the therapeutic environment I create for clients. Music, art, and nature serve as healing companions in my own journey, and I often invite clients to connect with their own sources of inspiration and resilience.
Connection with Nature & Exploration
As a passionate hiker and traveler, I have explored 13 countries and 35 U.S. states with my family. These journeys have strengthened my cultural awareness, broadened my perspective, and continually reminded me of the healing power of connection—with loved ones, with nature, and with the wider world.
Through my counseling practice, I invite you to embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth—one that honors both your struggles and your strengths, and reconnects you with the Real Self within.
